Biography

Eleanor was born about 1831 to Arthur Jones and Ann Lea and was baptised in Loppington, Shropshire on December 18th 1831. ^[1] Abraham Chidlow and Eleanor Jones were married 3 Mar 1959 in Malpas, Cheshire, England. ^[2] By 1861, they farmed at Kiln Green Farm on Higher Wych in the parish of Iscoyd, Flintshire, Wales. She had a son of 1 year and her brother Richard and family lived at neighbouring Fox Hole Farm. ^[3] In 1871, they farmed at Cilhendre Farm, Ellesmere Dudleston, Shropshire. As well as the son now aged 11 years, they had a daughter aged 7. There were a niece Mary A. Neurres age 15. ^[4] In 1881, they farmed at Bickerton, Cheshire. Abraham's father was with them. ^[5] Abraham died in March 1890. By 1891, Eleanor was living with her son Frederick and his wife on Larkton Lane, Bickerton. ^[6] In 1901, she was living with her son-in-law Philip Ruscow (sic) and his eight children, aged 2 to 17 in Egerton, Cheshire. ^[7] She was still in Egerton in 1911, then living in the home of her grand children, Herbert and Minnie Ruscoe, whose brother Philip was visiting at the time. ^[8] Eleanor died there on July 26th 1917. Administration of her estate was granted to her son Frederick on November 21st. Her effects were valued at £278. ^[9]
