Joshua Bunting Jonah was born on 25 Nov 1858 in Dawson Settlement, Hillsborough, Albert, New Brunswick, son of Isaiah S. Jonah (1835–1913) and Martha Steeves (1835–1898).

Joshua (27) married Sarah Jane Terris (19) (born on 12 Dec 1866 in Dawson Settlement; daughter of James Terris and Elizabeth (Allen) Terris) in 1886. Their known son was George Chancey Jonah (1893–1957).
In 1891, Joshua (32) was living in Hillsborough.[1]
In 1911, Joshua (52) was living in Kings-Albert Sub-Districts 1-42, New Brunswick.[1]
Joshua died on 28 Nov 1939 in Hillsborough, Albert County, Canada, aged 81.[2]
