George Chancey Jonah was born on July 24, 1893 in Dawson Settlement, Albert County, New Brunswick, Canada, son of Joshua Bunting Jonah (1858–1939) and Sarah Jane Terris (1867–1947).
George had a sister, Lillian Eulelia Jonah (1885–1955).
In 1911, George (17) was living in Kings-Albert Sub-Districts 1-42, New Brunswick. [1]
George (21) married Lottie Fayetta Yorke (14) (born on December 11, 1900 in Parrsboro, Cumberland, Nova Scotia, Canada; daughter of Judson Avery Yorke and Caroline Alberta (Joyce) Yorke) in 1915. Their known daughter was Irene Evelyne Jonah (1921–1938).
George died on December 12, 1957 in Hillsborough, Albert County, aged 64. He was buried in Dawson Settlement United Baptist Church Cemetery, Dawson Settlement, Albert County, New Brunswick.[2]
