Thanks for taking responsibility for the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.
Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up GEDCOM biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

229 people are collaborating on various branches of the Barnes family. If I can be of assistance, please contact me. If you trace your roots to my Irish immigrant, Brinsley (1713-1794) [Barnes-1145] or Solomon [Barnes-368] also an ancestor, let's connect. I am the President of a non-profit Foundation and operate a website devoted to research on Brinsley and Solomon Sr. (1751-1807) and their descendants. Both men migrated to what became Wilkes County, NC in 1777. We have five Ph.D.s and a former State Registrar of the DAR volunteering their time to assist us. Solomon, although not born there first, came to Orange County, NC and later migrated to Rowan County in about 1771. This became Wilkes in 1777 and until his death but is present-day Alexander. Brinsley migrated from Dublin to Chester, PA then to Orange now Chatham Co., NC before arriving in Wilkes now Alexander about 1784. At the time this was Indian Territory. Solomons roots are English, and he descends through the same line as James and Keturah Shipley Barnes. The website also discusses their descendants who migrated to Kentucky, Indiana, and Missouri. Brinsleys Irish family has been in America since 1734. The two families have seven Revolutionary War Patriots, one served under Washington at Valley Forge. By mid-2018, we will begin building a tree and database based on facts and free of much of the miss information found in other people trees on Ancestry. Learn more by clicking on the next link but read the rest of the message before doing so https://competitivestrategies.us/barnes-ancestors-and-history/. A new article is announced every three or four months. To be notified of this, fill out the form at https://competitivestrategies.us/newsletter-sign-up-page/ . By doing this we will also send you research aides that are not on the website, and they come from counties where our family lived, but the courthouse is not automated and online.
Welcome if we can establish Solomon Only
Welcome to Wikitree. There are 192 people collaborating on various branches of the Barnes family. If I can be of assistance, please contact me. Our Foundation maintains a website researching my Irish immigrant, Brinsley (1713-1794) [Barnes-1145] and Solomon [Barnes-368] and their descendant. Since your Barnes line was in Wilson County, you are not related to Brinsley. We know less about Solomon Sr. (1751-1807). He first appears in Orange before 1771 when he sold his land and migrated to Rowan County. This became Wilkes in 1777 and until his death but is present-day Alexander. Solomons roots are English, and he descends through the same line as James and Keturah Shipley Barnes. If you have a first cousin through your Barnes grandfather who will take a Y-DNA test, it will tell you if you are in Group 2 that you are related to Solomon and James. We have thus far determined that Solomon had a so son who migrate to Missouri and a grandson to CA. We have identified family there and are broadening our research. Solomon was Revolutionary War Patriots. We have five Ph.D.s and a former State Registrar of the DAR volunteering their time to assist with research and writing. By mid-2018, we will begin building a tree and database based on facts and free of much of the miss information found in other people trees on Ancestry. Hi Darlene, I see that we're both descended from John Peckham, 17th-century immigrant to Rhode Island. He was from an aristocratic family in England, but the presumed connection was recently disproven, oops. I also see that you're descended from James Cudworth-2, a Magna Carta Gateway Ancestor whose lineage hasn't been worked on. Have you ever thought of getting involved with the Magna Carta project? Cudworth is a descendant of Thomas Lewknor-5 (by coincidence one of my likely ancestors), whose Magna Carta lineage has already been finished. His profile is here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Lewknor-5
