Charles Spurgeon Johnson was the first African American President of Fisk University. He was noted for his contributions in the fields of race relations and sociology. His works include: Shadow of the Plantation (1936) and Patterns of Negro Segregation (1943).[1]
Charles Johnson was born in 1893. He was the son of Charles Johnson and Winnie Branch
He passed away in 1956.
