Biography
Carolyn (Jett) Cox is a part of US Black heritage.
Carolyn was born about 1893. She passed away some time after the 1940 census.
In the 1900 census Carlina Jett (age 7), student, was the daughter of Samuel Jett (age 45), and Belle Jett (age 50) in Riddell, Estill, Kentucky, with four older brothers.[1]
Caroline Jett 17 (daughter of Sam Jett and Belle Francis) and James Cox 23 (son of James Cox and Alice Roach) were married on 2 Aug 1910 in Hamilton County, Ohio.[2]
In the 1920 census Caroline Cox (age 30), tobacco factory labor, was the married head of household in Lexington Ward 4, Fayette, Kentucky, with three children: Venin 3, Wesley 6, and Vaughn 4.[3]
In the 1930 census Carolina Strong (age 33), tobacco factory stemmer, was the wife of Top Strong (age 41), section hand on steam railroad, at 178 Race Street, Lexington, Fayette, Kentucky, with her children: Wesley 16, Barney 14, and Phoenix 13.[4]
In the 1940 census Caroline Cox (age 45), was the single lodger of Tom Stray (age 63), section hand on railroad, in Lexington, Fayette, Kentucky, with her children Wesley H. and Bennie, and ward Carolyn Hill.[5]
