George (Jermingham) Jerningham was born in Suffolk, England.

Sir John Jerningham of Somerleyton and Bridget, daughter of Sir Robert Drury I of Hawstead, Suffolk, were the parents of George Jerningham (or Jernegan), their first son.[1][2]

He married 20 Mar 1534 by settlement, Ella/Eley, daughter of Sir John Spelman of Narborough, Norfolk and Elizabeth Froneyke of Gunnersbury, Middleton.[1][2]

  7. Eley, who married Arthur Jennye, Esquire of Knotishall, Suffolk

His uncle was Sir Henry Jerningham KB MP, brother-in-law of Sir Thomas Cornwallis.[1]

He died circa Jan 1559.[1]
