Biography

Rachel Robinson is an American former professor and registered nurse. She is the widow of professional baseball player Jackie Robinson. After her husband's death, she founded the Jackie Robinson Foundation.^[1]

Rachel Annetta Isum was born in Los Angeles, California in 1922. She is the daughter of Charles Isum and Zellee Jones.^[2]

In 1946, she married trailblazing baseball star Jackie Robinson.^[3]
