Biography

Isabella, the daughter of Thomas Irvine and Ruth Dinsmore was born 3 Jan 1854. She grew up on the family farm in Blanshard Township. ^{[1] [2]}

Henry Hancock and Isabella Irvine were married by license 1 Mar 1880 according to Church of England rites in Blanshard Township, Perth, Ontario. ^[3] They moved to the United States and in 1900 were living in Chester Township, Grand Forks, North Dakota with their five children. ^[4] By 1910, they lived in Grand Forks with the youngest two of those children remaining at home as well as married daughter Maude with husband and child. ^[5] In 1920 Henry and Isabella's children had all left and a neice, Victory Hancock and her daughter Beverly lived with them. ^[6] Henry died in 1924 and Iasbella moved to Seattle to live ner her daughter Maude who by then had a large family. ^[7]

Mac Irvine remembered Aunt Bella and her husband visiting St. Marys relatives in their chauffeured limosine during WWII. Her husband always had nylons for all the ladies, even in wartime.

Isabella died 22 July 1939 in Seattle. ^[8] She was remembered on a marker with her husband in Grand Forks. ^[9]
