Birth and early Life

Ruby Celestia Ingalls was born on May 23, 1855, in Concord, Wisconsin. Her parents are Lansford Whiting Ingalls and Laura Louise Colby

On July 7, 1860 Ruby was living in Concord, Wisconsin with her parents and siblings. Peter age 26, Charles P age 24, Julia L age 22, Caroline age 20, Lansford J age 17, Ladora L age 15, William L W F age 12, George W age 8 and Lafayette Clough age 3.^[1]

On August 15, 1870, Ruby was attending school in Rock Elm, Wisconsin whare she was living at age 15 with her parents and older brother George age 19.^[2]

Marriage and children

She married Joseph Card in 1877 in her hometown. They had two children during their marriage.

1. George Sherman was born in December 1878 in New Richmond, Wisconsin.

In 1870, She was living in Bergen, McLeod, Minnesota Whare she was keeping house for her husband and son George.^[3]

Ruby Celestia Ingalls moved from Concord, Wisconsin to Inman, Nebraska in the late 1800s when homesteaders raced West to claim their own plot of land.

Death and buried

She died as a young mother on December 1, 1881, in Inman, Nebraska, at the age of 26, and was buried there.
