Biography

Flora B. Ingalls was born in July 1857 in Austinville, Bradford, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Benjamin Ingalls (1819–1898) and Mary Ann Watkins (1818–1900).^[1][2]

She had one son, Benjamin Ross Ingalls, who identified his father as Fred Ingalls on his 1938 Social Security application.^[3] However, Bennie is believed to have been born out-of-wedlock and his fathers surname was probably not Ingalls.

In 1899, Flora married Critney Wood (born in October 1865 in Pennsylvania), probably in Bradford County, Pennsylvania or possibly in one of the nearby New York counties.^[4] By 1905, she is living as a widow in Elmira, New York.^[5]

Flora died on 4 April 1932 in Elmira, New York, aged 74.^[6]
