Biography
Daniel Hynd was born in 1899. He is the son of Daniel Hynd and Georgina Robertson.
He was baptised on 21 February 1899 in St. David's Church, Dundee, Angus, Scotland.
Daniel Hynd was born at 11 Cleghorn Street, Dundee, Scotland. The family later moved to Barry, Glamorganshire, Wales. In 1914 aged 15, Daniel ran away from home and joined the the Essex regiment of the King's Royal Rifle corps. After the war he became a marine engineer, married the girl next door (Jane Edwards) and during WWII worked at the Lago oil refinery in Aruba. He returned to England and moved to Cornwall in the 1950's.
