Biography

Margaret Howard was a sister of Queen Catherine Howard, being a daughter of Sir Edmund Howard (son of the 2nd Duke of Norfolk) by his 1st wife Joyce Culpeper.

By prenuptial agreement dated 20 Nov 1530, she married Sir Thomas Arundell of Wardour, KB.

They had two sons (Sir Matthew and Sir Charles) and two daughters (Dorothy, wife of Sir Henry Weston; and Jane, wife of Sir William Beville).

Sir Thomas was beheaded on 26 Feb 1552 and his estates were forfeited to the Crown.

Circa January 1553, orders were given for a third of her husband's forfeited lands to be granted to her.[1]

Margaret died 10 Oct 1571

Margaret was buried 20 Oct 1571 at Tisbury, Wiltshire. [2]

Lord Edmund Howard was the 3rd son of Thomas (Howard), 2nd Duke of Norfolk. His daughter, Margaret Howard, was the sister of Queen Katharine (Howard) and the cousin of Queen Anne (Boleyne).
