Biography

Isabella was born in 1900 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, one of 2 girls and 5 boys. When she was born, there was no electricity, no refrigeration, no cars. She married Robert Row Parr, a shipwright in 1924. They moved to NW London where he became a commercial contractor, and where their 3 children were born. Their second child, Henry, died in infancy. Rob and Bella and their 2 daughters, Elsie born in 1926, and Constance, born in 1930 survived the terrible Blitz of WW II. A bomb landed in the front garden and blew up the front of the house, but the family were huddled under the stairs in the back. After the War, Elsie, a talented artist, and her family moved to Sussex. Connie, a talented singer, emigrated to America in 1952. Isabella passed away at her home (of more than 60 years) in the summer of 1992.
