Biography
John was the son of John Horrocks and Jane Booth. He was born on 27th March 1768 at Edgworth, Lancashire, and baptised on 24th April 1768 at St Peter, Bolton-le-Moors, Lancashire.[1]
Founder of Horrocks Cotton empire, with brother Samuel. [2]
In 1802 he entered parliament as tory member for Preston, it was a brief political career. [3]
John married Mary Lomax on 25th April 1790 at Bolton Le Moors St Peter, Lancashire.[4]
He was interred on 16th March 1804 at Penwortham, Lancashire.[5][6]
