Biography
Alice was a Friend (Quaker) and was a member of Chuckatuck Monthly Meeting Monthly Meeting, Nansemond County, Virginia
Alice (also spelled "Alise") Hollowell, the seventh child and of Thomas Hollowell, Sr. and Alce was born on 16 Feb 1664 in Virginia.[1]
Alce Hollowell daughter of Alce married John Small 25 Feb 1688[2].

- ↑ White, Miles Jr., Early Quaker Records in Virginia, Genealogical Pub Co, 1977, p 36 shows Alice's date of birth recorded as "16th of the 12th mo. 1664." Prior to 1752 in England and in the Colonies, dates were using the Julian calendar, in which the year began on March 25. That means that "1st month" referred to March, and "12th month" referred to February. So this date is most likely the 16th day of February, not the 16th day of December. Confusing, right?
