Elizabeth (Holbrook) McCaleb was born in Appalachia, in North Carolina.

In the 1860 Census, Elizabeth was living with her son, J. Andrew, and his family in Fayette County, Alabama. She was 75 years old.[3]

Elizabeth passed away in 1870 in Fayette County, Alabama aged ~85. She was laid to rest in an unmarked grave in the Whitehead Cemetery in Fayette County.[4]
