Biography

Ernestine was born in December 1878 in Alexandria, Virginia (also seen as born in Arlington, VA; and Milwaukee, Wisc.). She was the daughter of John Henry and Katherine L. Hoaglin.

Abel Livingston married Ernestine J. Hoaglin on 30 May 1902 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Mr. H.W. Reed, clergyman, officiated. Ernestine and Abel had three daughters, one of whom, Katherine M., died at 12 or 13 years of age.

In 1920, they lived with their three children in Glendale, Los Angeles, California. Abel was a masseur. In 1930, they lived in Glendale, CA with their daughter Ruth. Abel was a trained nurse at a hospital. In 1940, they lived in Glendale, CA. Abel was a crossing guard. ^{[1] [2]}

Their daughter, Gean/Jean married in Santa Ana, California in 1919. Note: It is probable that Jean imbedded many errors in the marriage registration to hide the fact that she was underaged. ^[3]
