Birth

Sofie was born on the 11th April 1885 the daughter of Karl Laurits Hesselberg and Elen (Wallace) Hesselberg. She was christened in Oslo, Norway on the 7th June 1885.^[1]

1885 Norwegian Census in 1885 Sofie was living at 121 Gjetemyrsveien 65, Oslo, Norway with her parents Karl and Elen, and Sophie Wallace (born in 1858 in Sogn, Norway), and Vilhelm Hesselberg (born in 1862 in Nedre Stordalen).^[2]

1891 Norwegian Census in 1891 Sofie was living at 43 Gjetemyrsveien 65, Oslo, Norway with her parents Karl and Elen, and her siblings Astrid, Ellen and Alf, and Harriet Mathilde Marie Wallace.^[3]

1900 Norwegian Census in 1900 Sofie was living at 19 Gjetemyrsveien 65, Oslo, Norway with her parents Karl and Elen, and her siblings Astrid, Ellen and Alf.^[4]

1910 Norwegian Census in 1910 Sofie, unmarried, was living at 35 Anton Schjothsgate 25, Oslo, Norway with her parents Karl and Elen, and her siblings Astrid and Ellen.^[5]

It is thought that Sofie married Harald Dahl in 1911, and their eldest child Astri was born in 1912 in Cardiff, Wales.^[6]

At the time of her daughter Else's christening in 1918 Sofie was living at Villa Marie, Llandaff, Cardiff with her husband Harald.^[7]

1939 National Register on the 29th September 1939 Sofie, a widow, was living at 'Oakwood' Hurst Road, Bexley, Kent.^[8]

Sofie died aged 82 on the 17th December 1967 and her death was registered in the 4th quarter 1967 in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. Her estate of £19852 was subject to probate in London on the 11th March 1968. She had been living at Whitefields Cottage, Windsor Lane, Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire.^[9][10]
