Henry came from Nine Partners about the close of the revolutionary War. Previous to coming to Danby, he disposed of his property, of which he possessed a large amountand received payment in Continental money.   This soon became almost or entirelyworthless by depreciation, he was left with butlittle or nothing in the worldso that arriving in Danbyhe was in verydestitute conditions. & nbsp; His family andeffects were broughtwith anox team. He wasa soldier in theRevolution, andserved through nearly thewholewarand knew well how to face hardships. Being a shrewd, energetic man, hebravely triumphed over the trying circumstances of those times, and amassed considerable fortune. & nbsp; The land for theburial ground, west of the Corners,was givenby him tothe town. He was always devoted tothe interests of the town,and being a man of energy and decision ofcharacter, and withal generous and public spirited, he gained the esteemof all, and occupied aprominent position in the community.  He held various town offices, and exercised considerable influence. & nbsp; He was also a man of piety and contributed liberally toward the support of the Gospel.
