Biography

The daughter of Ralph Beavers Hendershot and Julia Ann (Miller) Hendershot, Mary HEndershot was born in Macon Township, Michigan[citation needed] in 1838, residing there with her family.[1][2]

Mary married David P Rimert, the son of Abraham and Catherine Rimert, marrying around 1867; however, they divorced and by 1880, Mary and her daughter, Persis J. (Rimert) Hatch (1878-), lived with with her family at the Hendershot farm in Macon Township.[3]

Mary remarried in 1885, marrying Samuel Sarvey, marrying in Clinton Township, Michigan on April 18, 1885.[4] Sam Sarvey, a farmer from Pennsylvania who had migrated west to Kansas and then to Macon Township after the death of his first wife, Mary Boughner, brought two children to the marriage, Mary Sarvey and Baron Humboldt Sarvey. Mary and Sam Sarvey took up residence together in Macon Township, farming.[5][6]

Mary Sarvey passed away at Kalamazoo State Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan[7] at the age of 78 and is buried at Macon Cemetery in Macon Township, Michigan.[8]
