Biography

Mary Hayward was a daughter of Sir Rowland Hayward and his second wife Katherine Smythe.[1]

Mary was a beneficiary of the will of her grandmother, Alice (Judde) Smythe, the will made on 10 Jul 1592.[2]

Mary was noted in the will of her uncle Sir Thomas Smythe, the will made in 1621/1622 and proved in 1625, as his goddaughter, the Lady St Leger.[3]

Marriage and Issue

Mary married Warham St Leger around 1608.[1]

They had nine sons and four daughters:[1]

  • Mary
  • Frances

Death

She later resided in Lenham, Kent[4] and died in 1662.[1]
