George was born in 1894. He was the son of William Hatty and Jessie Brown. [1]
He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force, embarking from Melbourne on HMAT Ascanius A11 on the 27 May 1916. Serving with the 10th Australian Machine Gun Company, George was killed in action on 12 October 1917. With no known grave, he is commemorated at the Menin Gate Memorial, Belgium.
