Ebenezer was the son of Ebenezer Hartshorn and Rebekha Colburn. He married Lydia a daughter of Enoch Darling and Lois Thompson.
After his parents died he was appointed guardian to Job Buckmaster (husband of his mother's sister, Sarah).
"He was only three years old when his father died. He was sent to live with his mother's sister and her husband and they became his legal guardians. He and his wife Lydia moved from Bellingham, Massachusetts to Wrenthram, Massachusetts in 1773. He served in the Revolutionary War as a private and served in the Wrentham company of Captain John Boyd and marched as a "Minute Man" on 19 April 1775 during the alarm. Later was a sergeant in Captain Perez Cushings' company, in Colonel Craft's artillery regiment from November 1, 1776 to May 8" ( Derick Sibley Hartshorn, III, The Hartshorn Families in America)
1789 - Bought land and moved his family to Guilhall, Vermont
1791 he took the Oath of Allegiance to the State of Vermont
1793 he sold his land in Guildhall and moved his family to Lunenburg, Essex, Vermont,
Served in town Office for many years
1796 built a Grist Mill
Occupation - Farmer and Blacksmith
He may be buried in the Lunenburg Corners Cemetery, Lunenburg, Vermont. Head Stone was not located. Many headstones were broken or face down and sunk into the ground. https://www.findagrave/com/memorial/247995844
