Hi Rebecca; I, too, have Harsh ancestors. Mine, however, have been difficult to discern. You and I share 7.9 cm of DNA on Chromosome 13, so I am encouraged. My Esther Harsh was b 1790 and married 1809 in Bedford County, Pennsylvania to John Wright. I thought maybe she was a daughter of Geo Fred Harsh and Anna Cath Core but it doesn't make sense that she was in PA getting married when all the rest of that family was in VA/WV. So I will keep searching.

Hello Cindi,

Somehow I missed this message. Hope by now you have found your answers. Though, I will take a look at another family tree I have that is a little more built out. -Rebecca

Hi Rebecca;

I guess I was unable to peruse your family tree. If you would consider letting me take a look, I may recognize someone.

Paternal relationship is confirmed by a triangulated group on MyHeritageDNA consisting of Billy James Bishop, Rebecca (Harsh) Toothman, and Christopher Douglas, who share a 11.7 cM segment on chromosome 2. The most-recent common ancestors shared by all three are John Samuel Porter and Hannah (Combs) Porter.

Hi Rebecca,

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a Pre-1700 Project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants.

It looks like the Maryland Project would be a good fit based your current contributions to the WikiTree. Review the project page to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

Hi Rebecca –

We are happy to have you as a member of WikiTree. I hope you’re enjoying being here.

I'm a member of the Mentor project, and I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can help you with?

Shirley – WikiMentor

Hello Again,

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week now so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?

I want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Cindy ~ WikiTree Messenger

PS Good work so far! Have you noticed on your ancestor profiles on bottom right is "Research" where you can get sources and more information? Give it a try!

Hi Rebecca,

Thanks for volunteering! You are now a full member of the WikiTree community, and can start adding your family. Let me know if you have any questions.

Since WikiTree is different from other genealogy sites, we have a guided tour for new members at New Member How-To. Feel free to work through the How-Tos at your own pace.

Great to have you on board, enjoy, and good luck growing your branches.

Ludwig :)
