Here is my family tree. N.B. I know my writing style often comes off a little brusque, if this does, please don't take it personally. I have always hated writing, and I never learned to type, so these two things, coupled with my Dyslexia are the main reasons... In person, well I'm of Irish descent, so there is always a story, and sometimes that does poke through here too... ;)
While I am pleased that WikiTree has designed a placard to honour Adoptive Parents, and even put them first (before birth parents) I wish they had included room for Adoptive Siblings, and made the card a little more pronounced on the page, and included Adoptive Family in CC7 connections. It is my firm belief that human beings are far more Nurture, than Nature socialized and developed, and as such it is the Adoptive Family far more so than DNA, that determines who you are.

This section is not "about" me but a list of waves and times of Scots settling in Northern Ireland for me to easily reference, all in one place.
The Reed/Reid family settled in Lorrha during the 1660's as part of the Cromwellian settlement. They also rented land north of Borrisokane.
At the beginning of the 19th century there were two Reed families in the area.[4]
Scottish High King of Ireland - Robert the Bruce, his brother Edward and their invasion of Ireland in opposition to Edward II of England during the Scottish wars of Independence. On 26 May 1315 Edward and his fleet (estimated at in excess of 6,000 men) landed on the Irish coast at points at and between Olderfleet Castle at Larne, and Glendrum. Proclaimed High King of Ireland in 1315 and crowned in 1316, he was eventually defeated and killed by Anglo-Irish forces of the Lordship of Ireland at the Battle of Faughart in County Louth.
1606 independent Scottish settlement in east Down and Antrim.
English Plantation of Ulster under James VI of Scotland / I of England beginning in 1609
The Irish Confederate Wars, also called the Eleven Years' War, took place in Ireland between 1641 and 1653, when a Scottish Covenanter army was landed in the province to protect the Ulster-Scottish settlers from native Irish landowners
The Act of Settlement 1652, all Catholic-owned land was confiscated and the British Plantations in Ireland, which had been destroyed by the rebellion of 1641, were restored. However, due to the Scots' enmity toward the English Parliament in the final stages of the English Civil War, English settlers rather than Scots were the main beneficiary of this scheme
The Williamite War in Ireland (1689–91) was fought between Jacobites who supported the restoration of the Catholic James II to the throne of England and Williamites who supported the Protestant William of Orange, confirming the Protestant minority's monopoly on power in Ireland. Their victories at Derry, the Boyne and Aughrim are still commemorated by the Orange Order.
Famine in Scotland a major influx of Scots into northern Ireland occurred in the late 1690s, when tens of thousands of people fled a famine in Scotland to come to Ulster.
Jacobite Displacements
Battle of Culloden - 16 April 1746, the Jacobite army of Charles Edward Stuart was decisively defeated by a British government force under Prince William Augustus, Duke of Cumberland, on Drummossie Moor near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands
Crofter Displacements The Highland Clearances, the "eviction of the Gaels") were the evictions of a significant number of tenants in the Scottish Highlands and Islands, mostly in two phases from 1750 to 1860.
And from the Historical, to the Apocryphal
Early in the 17th Century three or four Harbison brothers migrated from Scotland to Ulster county Ireland, for military service in the Anti Jacobean struggle.
They or their descendants received from the government of William III (or William Prince of Orange) free hold allotments of land subject to the nominal rent of a fat hen per annum.
One of these brothers was Hugh Harbison. His son Hugh Jr. married a Miss White and had eleven children...[5]

I need you to remove the category "Irish Roots" from your profile. It is only used on project managed profiles, and never on the profile of a living person.
Sorry, the "Category: Irish Roots" page says that "All profiles managed directly by the Ireland/Irish Roots Project must have the Irish Roots template" but nothing about exclusivity, or living being a pre-existing exclusion, so I didn't know. It is removed, but I probably have it on a dozen or more of my ancestors... do I need to go through and find them and remove it there as well?
Yes, that would be most appreciated! We definitely need to rewrite that page to clarify, as you are not alone in reading it that way. If you check the main page for the Ireland Project (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Ireland) you'll see some stickers that you can use on those profiles instead.

Hi Tim, thanks for your message about Robert Harbison. I have checked the births for 1890 to 1900 using Harbison, Harbinson and Herbison and can’t find the birth record. I’m sure it must be somewhere, but perhaps there has been a mistranscription or a mid-spelling somewhere along the way. Your photographs are wonderful and thanks for uploading them. Have you seen our Harbison / Herbison one-name study? https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Herbison_Name_Study
Hi Tim just read your message and what a nice surprise hearing from you!! yes.. it's been awhile indeed, since we last compared notes regarding my baby brother Reid ..remember! Well, just recently, actually, via a woman in New Zealand found his date of birth for me!
I hip if you are to work together on our Reid s !!
Hi Tim from overcast Melbourne, Australia. I was just pottering around the Antrim category, doing some cleaning & sourcing and tinkered with a few Harbison profiles amongst quite a few others, I don't think I added myself as profile manager though. Some profiles can't be helped sadly, very limited information available on line. Hope you're having a great day.
Tim it will not allow me to view my daughters profile. I would like to update it and add a picture. Can you please add me to the trusted list for her? Madison Tappin. Also if you could please add me to my husbands list, Robert Tappin and my mother in law Susan Tappin's list that would be great.
Hi Tim i am a voting member of Photo of the Week and noticed your Ancestor Thomas Conley and was just wondering if you knew we have a Scottish Clan Project on WikiTree Terry
I want to thank you for your Bowling reply. I apologize for the amount of time it took me to reply also. I have been busy and not doing my Wiki Tree family tree lately.
