Charles Hall was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (United States).

Charles B Hall served as a US military pilot during World War II. He was one of the “Documented Original Tuskegee Airmen.” The Tuskegee Airmen were known for heroic combat service in support of Allied Forces in the European Theater. They served with the 332d Expeditionary Operations Group and the 477th Bombardment Group, both largely Black units of the United States Army Air Forces. Charles was one of the first 43 black pilots assigned to combat duty with the 99th Pursuit Squadron in North Africa and the first to shoot down an enemy aircraft. He was credited with four enemy aircraft kills and awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Charles B Hall was born on 25 Aug 1920 in Brazil Township, Clay, Indiana, United States. He was the son of Franklin Hall and Anna Blakesley.[1]

He married Maxine Jessie Parish in 1942 in Terre Haute, Indiana.[2] He later married Lola Delois Miles in 1961 in Gainesville, Texas.[3] They had two children together.

Charles died on 22 Nov 1971 aged 51.[4][5]
