Jackson Hall was born on 17 August 1844 in Youghiogheny, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, the son of John Hall and Nancy Layland.

John Hall (44), farmer, and wife, Nancy (42), owned real estate valued at $1500, with 2 horses and 1 cow, in household with their children, Samuel (21), farmer, MaryAnn (14), Garrett (12), Henry (10), Adeline (8), Jackson (6), Sabina (4) and Sarah (1). All in household were born in Pennsylvania.[1]

All in household were able to read, write and speak English, except baby Hattie, and all were born in Pennsylvania.[6]

Jackson Hall died 21 January 1903, in South Everson, Scottdale, Westmoreland, Pennsylvania and was buried at Scottdale Cemetery, Scottdale, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.[7]
