She was a lifelong area resident. For many years Mrs. Haley was a secretary for the Trenton law firm of Minton and Dinsmore. In recent years, she was associated with the office of attorney Donald R. Bryant Jr. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of New Jersey for over 50 years and was a member of the church's administrative board, music committee, and Women's Society of Christian Service. She was also a member of the Aeolian Choir of Trenton. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charles H. Glendinning of Edinboro, Pa., and Mrs. Jacqueline Melnick of South Hadley, Mass.; two grandsons and two granddaughters. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Poulson and Van Hise Funeral Home, 408 Bellevue Avenue with Dr. J. Stanley Wagg, former pastor of the First Methodist Church of N.J. officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 1 p.m. to time of service. Contributions may be made to the Camp Nejeda Fund, the N.J. Diabetes Foundation, 317 Belleville Avenue, Bloomfield.

Haley of Washington, D.C. became the bride of Charles Henry Glendinning, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Glendinning of this city, on July 16 at the First Methodist Church. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. John B. Oman, pastor. Organ music was played before and during the ceremony by Albert Ludecke, who also accompanied William C. Bourne, soloist. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore[etc...] Attending the bride [faded printing...] ... and Mrs. Herbert Melnick, sister of the bride.. [more faded printing...] William Hough served as best man. The ushers included Herbert Melnick, Gordon ... ...the couple left for a wedding trip to Nova Scotia. They will reside in Nottingham Village. The bride is a graduate of Brevard College. Mr. Glendinning, an Army veteran, is a graduate of Trenton Central High School.

RETIRED FROM EDINBORO UNIVERSITY: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice Erie Times-News (PA) - Tuesday, September 19, 2000 Charles H. Glendinning Ph.D., 73, 312 Meadville St., Edinboro, died Friday, June 16, 2000, at his home. He was born in Trenton, N.J., May 2, 1927, son of the late Henry and Viola Phillips Glendinning. He served with the U.S. Navy as a radarman during World War II, then worked for Westinghouse. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees in English from the University of Missouri, then received his doctorate from Ohio's Case Western Reserve University. He was an English professor at Edinboro University and served as the department's assistant chairman. He retired after 37 years. He was a member of the AARP and enjoyed collecting antiques and books, gardening and attending auctions. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alva Anderson Glendinning, in 1983. Survivors include his son, David Glendinning and his wife, Joan, of Edinboro; four grandchildren, Aurora Maya and Christopher, Bibiana and Darius Miller; and two great-grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. A Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 128 Sunset Drive, Edinboro, officiated by the Rev. John Jacquel. A memorial will also be held at 11 a.m. at the Newman Center, Darrow Road, officiated by the Rev. Mark Nowak. Burial was private.
