Mrs. J.M. Steely died at her home, 210 Franklin street at 10 p.m. yesterday. Mrs. Steely had been an invalid for six years from paralysis. Sunday she suffered another stroke, from which she failed to rally.
Mary Ann Haffa was born Jan. 24, 1837, in Schuylkill county, Pa. She was married to J.M. Steely in February 1858, and in the spring of 1869 they came to Iowa and settled on a farm in Bennington township. After 18 years of farming they moved to Waterloo and since resided at 210 Franklin street.
Decedent is survived by her husband, 8 children: A.W., H.H., E.M., J.H., J.W. and Mrs. A.D. Paul, Waterloo; D.O., York, Neb.; and N.H. Dolan, S.D.; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, A.W. and Dan Haffa, and a sister, Mrs. George Arends, Waterloo; two sisters in Pennsylvania and a brother in Kansas.
Funeral services will be at the home Friday at 2 p.m. Rev. C.R. Bair,
