Maria Anna, Archduchess of Austria (Erzherzogin von Österreich) was the second, but eldest surviving daughter of Ferdinand II, Holy Roman Emperor, and his first wife, Maria Anna of Bavaria and was born at Graz on 13 January 1610.
She married at Vienna, on 15 July 1635, her uncle, Maximilian I, Elector of Bavaria, as his second wife.
They had two sons:
Her husband died 27 September 1651, and she effectively became the regent for her son Ferdinand.
She died at Munich on 25 September 1665, and was buried in Church of St Michael, in Munich.
