Edward was born circa 1626 to 1630, probably in England.
Savage's Genealogical Dictionary of the First Settlers of New England (by James Savage, 1860-1861) says of him:
"Greenman, or Grinman, David, early a propr of Taunton. Baylies II, 265. Perhaps he was of Newport, freeman 1655. Edward or Edmund freeman of Newport 1655, Westerly 1661, perhaps son of John. John ri 1638."
