Biography

Sarah A Green was the daughter of Isaiah Green (1840-1909) and Julia Ann Hott (1845-1881), who were married on 3 Jan 1865 in Pickaway County, Ohio. She had five siblings; Emma Jane 1865, Elwood Lindley 1868, Daisy Florence 1872, George Milton 1874 and Anna May 1879.

Residence in 1880 was in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois.^[1]

When Sarah was age 3, her mother, Julia Ann, died on 4 March 1881, probably in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois. Her father, Isaiah married Lucy Ann Poor Stills on 3 October 1882 in Macon county. She was previously married to Charles Stills and they had three children; Fannie 1863, Emma 1866-1887 and Henry 1872-1884.

Sarah was first married to George Jackson Bender on 22 February 1898 at Decatur, Macon County, Illinois.^[2] He was the son of John Ive Bender (1835–1916) and Eliza Jane Mize (1841–1908), who were married on 5 July 1856 in Monroe County, Indiana.

Sarah and George had two children;

1. Edith May 1903
2. Florence 1908

Her father, Isaiah Green, died in Missouri on 11 February 1909.

Sarah and George Bender were divorced on 10 December 1909 at Decatur, Macon County, Illinois.

Residence in 1910 was in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois.^[3] Sadie 33, two daughters, Edith 6 and Florence 2, and soon-to-be husband Lewis Stone 26, were living with Sadie's step-mother, Lucy Green 70. In Lucy's household was the daughter from her first marriage, Fanny 47 and William Parks 49.

Sarah was second married to Lewis Stone in 1912 in Illinois. They had three children;

1. Dorothy Louise 1913 (twin)
2. Edward 1913 (twin)
3. Robert 1916 (twin)
4. Infant 1916-1916 (twin)^[4] Note: stillborn, 6th child, 2nd of twins.

Sadie's daughter, Edith May Bender was married to William Charles Dickerson on 07 January 1919 in De Witt County, Illinois.^[5]

Residence in 1920 was in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois.^[6]

Residence in 1930 was in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois.^[7]

Sarah A Green (Bender) Stone died on 25 December 1932 at Decatur, Macon County, Illinois.^[8] Her burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois.^[9][10]
