William Grainger was born in Ireland.

He was a ship owner operating out of Belfast Ireland William's marriage was registered in the Jul-Aug-Sep quarter of 1883 in the Birkenhead district.^[1] William, son of David Grainger, married Dora Nesbitt on 24 September 1883 in Oxton, Birkenhead.^[2] In the 1901 census Wm (age 53), Ship Owner, was the married head of household in Jordanstown, Whitehouse, Antrim, Ireland.^[3]

In the 1911 census William (age 63), Ship Owner, was the married head of household in Antrim, Ireland.^[4]

William's death (age 67) was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1915 in the Belfast district.^[5] William died on 16 March 1915 in Northern Ireland.^[6] William died on 16 March 1915 in Antrim, Ireland and their estate passed probate on 28 May 1915 in Belfast.^[7]
