Gordon-2800 and Gordon-616 do not represent the same person because: I'm sure these two profiles are not a match. Just not enough information to confirm.
Annette, there is evidence as explained in my comments that Gordon-2800 and Gordon-616 are the same person. There is no evidence so far that contradicts that. The merger should not be rejected. When and if you find evidence, then the relationship can be disputed.

Gordon-2800 and Gordon-616 appear to represent the same person because: Please see my comments under Gordon-2800. Note the comment on page 41 of https://archive.org/details/memorialsoffamil1889lums/page/40/mode/2up?view=theater a reference to a charter crest and explanation. This indicates that John Lumsden (born 1510) who was son of Thomas Lumsden, (born 1468) was heir to his nephew Patrick Hepburn, only son of Patrick Hepburn and Margaret Gordon. Sir Patrick Hepburn Jr. of Bolton died 1576. Sir Patrick Hepburn Jr. was the stepbrother of John Lumsden of Cushnie who died in 1588 and explains how John Lumsden of Cushnie is heir of Patrick Hepburn Jr. of Bolton. Marjory Gordon Hepburn apparently married secondly Thomas Lumsden (b.1468) after the the death of Patrick Hepburn Sr. in 1508. John Lumsden, son of Thomas Lumsden and Marjory Gordon (previously Hepburn) is born in 1510. Both Thomas Lumsden Jr. and Sr. died at the Battle of Flodden Field in Northumberland in 1513.
