Biography

Birth

Hannah Goding was the daughter of Jonathan Goding and Ruth (Sargent) Goding.^[1] Based on her age at her death from her gravestone, she was born in 1793 or 1794.^[2]

Marriage

Hannah Goding married Asa Allen of Jay, Maine.^[1] On 22 Dec 1819, the town clerk of Livermore, Maine (then in Massachusetts), certified that "an intention of marriage between Mr. Asa Allen of Jay and Miss Hannah Godding of Livermore hath ben [sic] entered with me fourteen days prior to this date and ben [sic] published in the Town of Livermore as the Law directs."^[3] They married (or published the intention) at Jay on the same day.^[4]

Death

A gravestone at the Allen Cemetery in Jay, Maine, says that Hannah Allen died on 24 Feb 1837 at the age of 43.^[2]
