Biography

Leslie represented Great Britain in Tennis in the Paris Olympics of 1924

Wimbledon men's doubles and mixed doubles champion. Part of the only married couple to win Wimbledon as a mixed doubles partnership.

Leslie never got past the third round of any Grand Slam singles event but reached at least the quarter-final stage of all four Grand Slam mixed doubles events. He was also member of the British Davis Cup team from 1923 to 1927 and competed at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Leslie was born in 1885. He was the son of George Stephen Godfree and Bessie Hunt. Leslie's birth was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1885 in the Steyning district.[1]

Leslie was a captain in the Royal Field Artillery during the First World War.
