Alfred Carlton Gilbert was born on February 15, 1884 in Salem, Marion, Oregon, United States, son of Frank Newton Gilbert (1848–1916) and Charlotte Ann Hovenden (1860–1952).[1]

In 1900, Alfred C (16) was in the household of his father, Frank, in West Moscow Precinct Moscow city Ward 2, Latah, Idaho. [2]

AC (24) married Mary Thompson (24) (born on July 20, 1884 in McCune, Crawford, Kansas, United States; daughter of James Monroe Thompson and Mary Della (Means) Gilbert) on September 19, 1908 in Seattle, King, Washington, United States. Their son was Alfred Champion Gilbert (1919–1964).

In 1910, Alfred C (26) was living in New Haven Ward 13, New Haven, Connecticut. [3]

In 1920, Alfred C (36) [4] was living in New Haven, Connecticut.

In 1930, Alfred C (46) was living in North Haven, New Haven, Connecticut. [5]

In 1940, Alfred Carlton (56) was living in North Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut. [6]

AC died on January 24, 1961 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, United States, aged 76.[7] [1][8][9]
