Daughter of Edward Howard Howard-Gibbon (1799-1849) and his wife Amelia Dendy (1802-1864), married Dec 28, 1824. Granddaughter of Mary Ann Gibbon, longtime mistress (1795 to 1815) of Charles Howard, 11th Duke of Norfolk. They were rumoured to have been married by Catholic priest when Charles' 1st wife was still alive in an insane asylum. (name hyphenated 1843)
Caroline was baptized Jan 19, 1828 at St Mary's Littlehampton, 3 miles by footpath from Arundel Castle.
Caroline moved with her mother Amelia from Sussex England to Ontario between 1856 and 1858.
Caroline married widower Benjamin Walker, Barrister of Belleville, Ont., in 1858 and they had one daughter together. Benjamin previously had several children in Jamaica with Maria Lynch who died in 1855.
Caroline was an artist. A detailed description of her photocollage work can be found in a 2019 MA Art History thesis, with colour picture reproductions of Caroline's work[1].
She moved to be with her daughter's family in Erindale Ontario and taught school to her 5 grandchildren and their 3 cousins.
