Biography

James was baptised at St Martin-in-the Fields London on March 1st 1691, the son of French Huguenot, Nicholas Gambier and his wife, Esther. He married Mary Mead. They had at least four children. James was for some time Warden of the Fleet Prison in London. Mary died in 1730 and James at Lincoln’s Inn London on September 9th 1745.
