George was born in 25/12/1836. He was the son of Thomas James Francis and Susannah Francis Thomas Francis and Susannah Kestell. and Baptized at the Methodist church, Grahamstown on 23/1/1838. ^[1]

Marriage

George Francis was married to Elizabeth Ann Clark, on 22 Dec 1858 at St. George's Cathedral, Grahamstown by John Heavyside, the colonial Chaplain, and witnessed by George Clark and Emily Jane Clark. Civil register no. 41536^[2]
