Biography

Benjamin Landry Folse was born in 1853, in Vacherie, Louisiana, the only child of Alexandre Folse and Evelie Folse, who were 1st cousins, once removed.

In 1876, at the age of 23, he married Marie Melissaire Schexnayder, daughter of Marceline Schexnayder and Marie Azelie Haydel, in Vacherie, Louisiana.
