Biography

Caroline Flavell was born in 1882 in Sedgley, Staffordshire^[1]. She was the daughter of Job Flavell and Eliza Allen^[2].

In 1902 she married Benjamin Hall in Lower Gornal, Staffordshire,^[3] and they had 9 children: John Thomas (b.1903, d.1962), Alice May (b.1904, d.1905), George (b.1906), Harold (b.1907, d.1909), Sydney (b.1911, d.1911), Sydney Gregory (b.1912, d.1984), Daisy (b.1915, d.2001), Ellen (b.1917, d.1990) and Benjamin (b.1921, d.2003).

The marriage appears to have broken down in the 1930s and, following Benjamin's death in 1949, Caroline married Samuel Bailey in 1949 in Yorkshire^[4].

Caroline died aged 78 in 1960 in Wakefield, Yorkshire,^[5] and was cremated at Pontefract Crematorium, Yorkshire^[6].
