Biography
Edward FitzGerald was born on October 15, 1763 in London, son of James Fitzgerald and Emilia Lennox
"He was brought to Ireland as a young child, first to the impressive family estate at Carton in Co. Kildare, and then to Frescati, the idyllic bathing lodge at Blackrock outside Dublin. " [1]
He married Stéphanie Caroline Anne Syms on December 27, 1792 Together they had 3 children:
"Between mid 1795 and early 1796 the United Irish organisation was reorganised as an underground revolutionary movement, and FitzGerald became one of its recognised leaders and, given his army background, its leading military strategist."
He died 4 June 1798 in Newgate Prison, Dublin, Ireland

I have just finished a biography for a Michael Connolly-2114. He was born in 1783 in County Galway. His Grandson Patrick Connolly-2112 died in Australia. His obituary in a NSW newspaper states that Patrick Connolly has iterated that his Grandfather Michael Connolly was sent to Kilmainham prison and was associated with Lord Edward Fitzgerald and John Philpot Curran and that his brothers were Lawrence and Thomas Connolly of the Dublin Parliament.
I'm afraid that my knowledge of The Irish Rebellion of the 1700's is very limited and I would really appreciate any help in connecting or discounting the links Patrick Connolly speaks of.
