Biography

Dorcas was born in about 1900 in Crewe, Cheshire, England. She was the daughter of William Ellerton and Mary Ellen (Hughes) Ellerton.^[1]

In the 1901 census Dorcas (age about 1) was living in Coppenhall Monks, Cheshire. Relation to Head of House: Daughter.^[1]

In the 1911 census Dorcas is living in Monks Coppenhall, Crewe with her parents and siblings Claud, Edith and Fred. Her father is a machinist in the loco works for London and North West Railway. ^[2]
