Biography

Fred was born on 28 July 1895 in Crewe, Cheshire, England. He was the son of William Ellerton and Mary Ellen (Hughes) Ellerton.[1][2][3]

Fred was baptised on 18 August 1895 in St. Pauls, Coppenhall, Cheshire at the same time as sister Sarah Annie and his two brothers.[4][5]

In the 1901 census Fred (age 5) was living in Coppenhall Monks, Cheshire. Relation to Head of House: Son.[6]

On 14 March 1910 Fred (age 14) was employed. Apprentice cooper, riveter: London & North Western Railway.[7][8]

In the 1911 census Fred (age 15) was living at 9 Holt Street, Monks Coppenhall, Crewe, Cheshire. Marital Status: Single; Relation to Head of House: Son.[3]

When Fred was 23 he married Edith May Lynn in July 1918 in Nantwich, Cheshire, United Kingdom. [9]

On 20 April 1922 Fred (age 26) was employed. riveter: London & North Western Railway.[10]

In the 1939 register Fred (age 44) was living at 28 Goulden St, Crewe, Cheshire, England. acetylene welder. Marital Status: Married.[2]
