Biography

William Thomas ELLARD^[1] was born on 14 September 1847 at Kapunda, South Australia, to parents Thomas ELLARD and Elizabeth WILSON. ^[2]

He married Augusta Emily, or Emily Augusta EARL in 1897 in Victoria, Australia ^[3] It is understood they had at least 11 children. Appearing in the photo are believed to be William, Emily, eldest son Arthur and baby Elizabeth.

William died in Coburg, Victoria on 16 Nov 1947, aged 72. ^[4]

DNA

The paternal line is 'tentatively' confirmed by DNA to shared ancestors of Edward Ellard and Mary Elizabeth Brotherton, however chromosome data is yet to be verified in a triangulated group. In the meantime the relationship has been marked as confident. ^{[5] [6]}
