John COAT. [1]

John Leonard COAT was born in Woodville, South Australia on the 29th August 1932 to parents Lenard COAT and Thelma Griffin.[2][3]. His parents were also married on the 29th August, one year earlier.

Between 1944 and 1947 John attended Jamestown High School, South Australia, Australia. From 1948-1949 he attended Prince Alfred College, Adelaide, South Australia. His final year of schooling in 1950 was at Roseworthy College, Roseworthy, South Australia, an agricultural college, where he was in the same class as Karl Seppelt.

John was artistic, he had an eye for design and was an accomplished pianist. A proficient horticulturalist, a gardener who could grow anything even under difficult conditions. He was also well known for his wonderfully extravagant floral arrangements.
