Biography

Milo was born 3 Jan 1895 in Salem, Marion, Oregon, United States.[1][2] He was the son of Elias Elkerton and Ida Wygant.[3]

Census Records

In the 1900 census, taken on 12 July, Milo (age 5) was the single son of Elias Elberton [sic] in Ten Mile River Township, Mendocino, California, United States. Besides his parents, Milo's five siblings and one step-sister also lived in their rented home. Milo's father was working as a "Woodsman".[3]

Milo completed his draft registration at the time of World War I on 5 Jun 1917. At that time he was working as a Laborer at the North American Oil Company in Taft, Kern, California, United States. He was a single caucasion, of a medium build, with brown eyes and dark brown hair.[1] Milo went on to become a part of the US Army as his gravestone shows he was a veteran of World War I, serving in Co. L, 364th Inf., 91st Div.[2][6]

Death & Burial

Milo died on 28 Dec 1925 at 30 years old. He is buried in the family plot of the IOOF Cemetery (Old South section), a part of the Crescent City Cemetery in Crescent City.[2][7]
