Eliza was born in 1846 in Hanborough, Oxfordshire.[1] She was the daughter of John Eaton and Eliza Paynton. Her baptism took place at the parish church of St Peter and St Paul on 3rd May 1846.[2] Her father stated on the register that he was a labourer.
Marriage
William Styles and Eliza Eaton were married after banns in Church Hanborough, Oxfordshire on 15th May 1869[3]. They were bachelor and spinster, both of full age and living in Hanborough. William was a labourer and stated of his father only that he was deceased. Eliza was a gloveress and the daughter of John Eaton who was a labourer. William signed his own name on the register (spelling his surname Styles) whilst Eliza could only make her mark with a cross. The witnesses to the marriage were John Holtom and Emily Collier[4].
